ENISA Threat Landscape 2016 Report on Cyber-Threats

The European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) has published on 8th of February the "Threat Landscape 2016", which summarises the top cyber threats encountered in 2016.

As stressed by ENISA top management, the cyber-threat landscape is now receiving significant high-level attention, a direct consequence of ‘cyber’ becoming mainstream, affecting people’s opinions and influencing the political environment of modern societies. In this context, the report provides information on the emerging cyber threats and the developments which have taken place regarding the tools and tactics used now.

2016 has been in particular characterised by numerous serious cyber-incidents which have dominated the news. Main objectives of malicious activities detected were monetization and political impact.
