On 1st November 2016, David Lund, PSCE Board Member and Coordinator of the BroadMap project, submitted the first PSCE contribution to 3GPP.
Further to the agreement signed on 21st October 2016 between PSCE and 3GPP, which gives PSCE a Market Representation Partner status, PSCE has submitted its first contribution to 3GPP about the Public safety prioritization for MCData and MCVideo functions, features and capabilities.
This contribution was made possible thanks to the work performed in the framework of the BroadMap project (www.broadmap.eu). The priorities expressed are derived from the results of a large study carried out between April and September 2016 to validate requirements for Mission Critical broadband for the PPDR community.
This study gathered contributions from the European PPDR community, i.e. experts across 18 European countries and 276 organisations, including Police, Ambulance, Fire, Customs, Army, Coastguard, Prison, Utilities, etc. More than 530 PPDR end user experts also attended national and international workshops between May and August 2016. It was also completed by an analysis of the requirements defined in past EU funded research projects.
